Marian Encounters, a Catholic non-profit ministry dedicated to Our Lady, provides presentations, workshops, and exclusive fundraising products to schools and churches that want to foster a closer relationship with Christ through His Beloved Mother.
Anita Oas, began taking oil painting lessons at the age of 12, which ultimately lead her to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a partial Master of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
As a single mother, Anita realized the need for a solid grounding in the faith for her two children and the community at St. Helen Catholic Church. Her K-12 Catholic education provided a solid foundation for lifelong volunteering and ministry. For the next 10 years, she volunteered as a catechist.
Then one day, after her kids had grown, she heard and responded to the call of promoting the works and blessing of the Queen of Heaven and bringing others to Christ trough His Mother. Life has not been the same since.
In Spring of 2019, Our Lady's call led Anita to start a wonderful new ministry called Marian Encounters. She creates artwork that she produces as prayer cards, posters, candles, mugs, etc... These products are used by Catholic schools and organizations as fundraising materials providing an avenue for young people to evangelize about their faith. She also presents talks and slides about the signs and symbols used in religious art with excerpts from the Holy Bible and the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
In her spare time, she can be found volunteering at St. Helen Catholic Church, GCU Holy Spirit Newman Center, the Franciscan Friars of the Holy Spirit, and other Diocesan ministries throughout the Phoenix Metropolitan Area.
